Join us on for a downtown Ottumwa Black Friday. Goose Island Bourbon County Stout will be released in the Tom-Tom Tap. We will be the only bar in the area with this beer. The beer has been aged in 4+ year old Heaven Hill bourbon barrels. A local favorite in Chicago, fans of Goose Island line the sidewalks purchase a pint, or to buy cases of the special release stouts to take home. While many in Ottumwa will be out shopping for Black Friday, we recommend that you avoid the rush, avoid the lines. Stop into the Tom-Tom Tap for a taste of the Original Bourbon County Brand Stout. The noted flavors are cocoa, vanilla, caramel, almond, and cherry. In addition you will notice leather and tobacco flavors that become more prominent with each drink.
On the Goose Island website, Brewmaster Jared Jankoski is quoted as saying “It ain’t broke, and we didn’t try to fix it.” The first batch of this beer was brewed in celebration of Goose Island’s 1000th batch, on Clybourn Street in Chicago, at the original pub. That was in 1992. The Goose Island Beer Company website tells the following tale:
Enjoy a pint in a traditional Tom-Tom Tap pint glass. Keep the glass for only an additional $2. Spend an Ottumwa Black Friday celebrating the Bourbon Stout Release in the Tom-Tom Tap with us.
